My very clever boy

Well here we are, then end of another school year. Why does it go so fast?

Josh has again excelled at school this year and his teachers just adore him.

His end of year report is presented to us as a bound book called a "learning story". This is his learning story and it is over 50 pages full of photos, quotes, work examples, teacher comments etc. from the whole years work. It is amazing how much effort these teachers go to, it is a record that we will proudly keep forever.

Here are a couple of quotes...This one is from Josh on one of his maths projects "Googolplex"

"Nick and I were doing the chequer board, multiplying very high numbers by very high numbers. The highest we got to was: 100 quadrillion. There are 16 places in the quadrillions and in the 100 quadrillions there are probably just another 2 zeros. Probably I'd say "

This is a quote from his teacher in relation to his work doing the permaculture garden accounts book.

"Josh worked on this activity for two hours with great excitement and obvious concentration. He asked for a lesson on rounding numbers off to the nearest zero and for a reminder lesson on abstract dynamic subtraction and addition. He was able to solve these "real life" equations in an abstract manner and in the end: they did indeed balance the books!

What a clever boy we have :)
